Frequently Asked Questions
How do I purchase tickets?
The fastest and easiest way to purchase tickets are online at: HighDesertChamberMusic.com
If you prefer to purchase tickets in person or by phone, the HDCM office in Downtown has varied hours. It would be best to call before stopping by.
On the day of events, ticket sales will be at the door, pending availability. The box office at UUFCO opens 1 hour prior to concert time.
Do you sell discounted tickets?
Pick 5 Season subscriptions offer a 15% discount off General Admission prices. Pick 3 Season subscriptions offer a 5% discount off General Admission prices. This offer expires on opening night every season.
Student Tickets are offered at $10 (Valentine’s Day concert $15) and must be purchased using a student email. Child Tickets may be purchased for children using any email when added to the purchase of a General Admission ticket.
We also offer large group discounts for groups of 10 or more. These can be purchased using the code “10for10”, which will give you a $10 discount off each General Admission ticket if more than 10 tickets are purchased in a single transaction. This amounts to a roughly 20% discount!
We do not offer a senior discount.
What if I can’t make it to a concert that I have already purchased tickets for?
We kindly ask that you note that all ticket sales are final, and unfortunately, we are unable to process exchanges or offer refunds. You can donate tickets for a tax credit if you email info@HighDesertChamberMusic.com at least 24 hours before the concert. Thank you for understanding.
What is the parking situation at UUFCO?
The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (UUFCO) has a large parking lot on the east side of its building with upper and lower lots. The lot has 83 standard parking spaces and five ADA parking spaces. The paths to the entrance from the parking lots are wide and wheelchair accessible.
Additional parking is available along Skyliners Road, along Skyline Ranch Road, along Lolo Drive, and on Sundays in the Ruffwear parking lot across Skyliners Road. When parking in the Ruffwear lot, enter on Lolo Drive and walk to the fellowship using the crosswalk at Skyliners and Skyline Ranch. When parking along Skyliners Road and Skyline Ranch Road, stay out of bike lanes and don't park in front of mailboxes.
What is appropriate dress for your concerts?
Afternoon concerts tend to have a little more relaxed feel than evening performances. There is no dress code, but most people wear business casual or slightly dressy clothes. However, you would not feel out of place if you wanted to use this as an opportunity to dress up!
When should I arrive?
Please try to arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time. This assists us in beginning the concert on time. Arriving early allows you time to find parking, relax, find your preferred seats, read the program notes, grab a beverage, and enjoy our Spotlight Chamber Players performing in the gathering hall before the concert. Latecomers will be admitted between movements when possible, or between works during the applause.
How long are your concerts?
A typical performance ranges from 1 hour 30 minutes – 1 hour 45 minutes and includes a 15-minute intermission.
Do you offer refreshments?
At the UUFCO, we offer a bar station with wine and beer for purchase, as well as a complimentary coffee and water station. Please note drinks are not allowed in the sanctuary and must be consumed in the gathering hall.
I purchased my tickets – now what?
You will receive an email confirmation of your ticket purchase. You should have selected one of the three following options for Ticket Delivery:
Mobile: Your confirmation email will have your mobile tickets attached and you can go straight to our Ticket scanners to enter
Print–at-Home: Your confirmation email will have a pdf for you to print at home
Will Call: Just show up on the day of the concert, your tickets will be waiting for you at the door
When should I applaud?
The HDCM Concert Series is recorded live for re-broadcast on KWAX Classical Oregon Radio and All Classical Radio Portland. We ask that you refrain from applause until all movements of a piece have been completed. The program insert lists how many movements to expect. If in doubt, take cues from the rest of the audience.
Are children welcome at the concerts?
Yes! High Desert Chamber Music’s goal is to allow young children to experience the highest levels of music performance and cultivate an interest that can lead to a lifelong appreciation and enjoyment of the performing arts. Students in the Bend/La Pine school district can receive complimentary admission when requested from their orchestra director. Regarding younger children, we welcome you to make an educated decision based on an individual’s interest and attention span.
Can I bring in my camera and/or tape recorder?
Taking photos and use of any recording device is not allowed. Please follow our social media channels and join our E-News list to receive notification when we post photos or advertise dates that concerts will be rebroadcast on the radio.
