Opening night of the High Desert Chamber Music 2016-17 season features a return of Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra Frank Almond, back by popular demand!  He will be performing works from his recently completed follow up recording to "A Violin's Life - the Lipinski Stradivarius".  Crafted in 1715, this year marks the 301st anniversary of the instrument.  His previous appearance in Bend was sold out, so don't miss this performance to kick off High Desert Chamber Music's ninth season.

The High Desert Chamber Music 2016-17 season continues with the Aviara Trio, making their debut in the HDCM Concert Series this season.  This exciting ensemble has been making an indelible impression on the musical landscape of Southern California.  With performance degrees from the Juilliard School, Cleveland Institute of Music, Yale University and Rice University, members of the trio have been Grand Prize Winners and finalists in several prestigious competitions including the Coleman National Chamber Music Competition, Fischoff Chamber Music Competition, and the D'angelo International Piano Competition.

Orloff/Walz Duo

The High Desert Chamber Music 2016-17 season continues with the much anticipated return of the acclaimed Orloff/Walz Duo, two of the founding members of the award winning Pacific Trio.  The duo's most recent recording project features works by Johannes Brahms, and took place in the renowned Bagno Konzertgalerie in Steinfurt, Germany - the oldest free-standing concert hall in Europe.  Their appearance last season was a resounding success, so don't miss this chance to catch them in Bend once again!

The High Desert Chamber Music 2016-17 season continues with a return of award winning pianist Robert Thies.  Capturing worldwide attention when he won the Gold Medal at the Second International Prokofiev Competition, he became the only American pianist to win first prize in a Russian piano competition since Van Cliburn's famed triumph in 1958. Thies will be presenting a solo recital with repertoire taking you on a voyage through the world's musical capitals: Vienna, Moscow, Paris, and New York.

The High Desert Chamber Music 2016-17 season concludes with Central Oregon favorites the Crown City String Quartet.  Their performances have been praised as "sublime" and "simply moving and spectacular".  This Pasadena based group has been the resident and premier group featured in the HDCM Concert Series and they perform regularly at a number of chamber music series in Southern California and the Pacific Northwest.

 

Join members of the CCSQ for a pre-concert talk about the program beginning at 6:45pm.  This event is free for all ticket holders.

 

We are pleased to continue presenting our concert series at the Black Butte Ranch for the second year.  Last year, this well-attended event was a wonderful success, and this special evening includes a reception with the performers immediately following the concert.  Seating is limited so advance ticket purchase is recommended.
